This is design mode. Notice how puzzles can be made in shapes; this puzzle on computer games has the grid in the shape of an alien. The words are entered at the right-hand side (they can also be imported from text files). Press the 'Go...' button to instantly place the words into the grid. Now the puzzle is ready to save, print, export, play etc. It couldn't be any easier!

This is play mode. A great privilege you get with 100% Word Search is the ability to play your puzzles as well as make them - have hours of entertaining fun! Drag a line over the words in the grid to identify them; if a word is correctly identified, a line is drawn through it. A useful hint option is provided that tells you which quarter of the grid a word is in. You can choose whether to have the words list shown or not. Play with or without a timer at different levels of difficulty.

Here are some of the word search grid settings. On this tab you can choose colours and line sizes for just about everything on the screen. You can also set default grid widths, heights and allowable directions for new puzzles. You can also choose whether the solution and letters are shown when designing puzzles. You may want to choose not to show them if you want to play the puzzle yourself and don't want to know where any of the words are hidden.

Here are the play settings. You can choose different difficulty levels (on harder levels you get less time). The time limit is automatically calculated based upon the complexity of the word search (grid size, number of words etc.) and the difficulty level. You can choose whether to show the words lists or not and whether the pause and hint features can be used. Sound can also be enabled and disabled. You also have the option of being shown the full solution if you quit.
